I have a friend who works full-time in their family business. At night and during weekends when he is off-duty, he would spend hours on the Internet learning about affiliate marketing. Today, he earns passive income through this. Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products online and you earn a commission. Every month, his passive income is equivalent to the monthly salary of middle managers. It is passive because he earns it even if he’s on vacation or asleep or working in the family business.
There are so many ways to make money online. If you spend hours on the Internet anyway, why not spend those hours giving value to other people and earning money in return?
I have another friend who excels at hosting events. She hosts wedding receptions, debuts, birthday parties, and other events. Most of these events are done on weekends or weeknights.
During my seminars, I would hire videographers and photographers to cover the event. I would pay for their services. My events are usually on Saturdays. Think about it. If you have a DSLR camera and you are good at taking photos, you can earn from taking photos during the weekend or during events or parties.
If you are good at grammar, you can be an editor. You can edit books on weekends or after your day job. If you’re good at creating posters, you can design Facebook posters for companies, authors, or speakers. I used to personally post on my Facebook pages. Lately, because I wanted to focus more on writing, I hired someone to create posters for me and schedule the posts on my FB pages. There are many people like me who hire social media managers.
If you have a talent in hosting, singing, dancing, making videos, posting on Facebook, taking photos, writing, or speaking, you can make money without quitting your job yet because you can do these on weekends or weeknights.
There are so many ways to make money while being employed. Before you quit your job, do these things on the side first. Try things out. As you keep doing it, it will become clearer what you should focus on when you finally quit your job. Who knows, you might realize that you don’t need to quit your job after all.
In a nutshell, discover your core competency and find ways to serve others through it.
Let me give you a quick list on how to make money without quitting your job yet.
